		Automotive Applications Common applications in the car industry include hire companies, fleet vehicles, prestige marques, unique modified vehicles. Hire Companies are increasingly using our product to disable vehicles once they have been deemed to be 'off-hire'. This is done by way of a simple phone call from the hire company to SAFESTOP the vehicle once the hire period has expired. The once a hire company member of staff collects the vehicle, another simple phone call releases the SAFESTOP and the vehicle can be driven. Also, if a Company has a large fleet of vehicles, it is inevitable that sooner or later one of them will go missing. We can locate the vehicle in question, advise the Fleet manager, and then agree a course of action - whether that is through a legal route (Police), or just to SAFESTOP it until an employee can retrieve the vehicle. If someone spends a significant amount of money on a prestige marque vehicle, it stands to reason that the want to protect it as much as possible, but also that it is far more attractive to thieves. Vehicles are increasingly stolen to order, and with the existing products on the market, the tracking can only be activated once they have been notified that the vehicle has been stolen. By that time your vehicle could be 350 miles away! Not with The Defender! We monitor 24/7 via our Always Alert system, and notify YOU should the vehicle move once armed. Then we utilise our SAFESTOP feature, to stop the thief from getting more than a couple of miles away. Motorcycles A nice motorcycle means just one thing to a thief - an opportunity. Many users are now looking at using Defender Direct to protect their pride and joy. Works in the same way as for cars - as soon as your motorcycle is moved, we can use our AlwaysALERT and SAFESTOP features to track and recover it. Peace of mind, guaranteed. Commercial Vehicles Many Plant Hire Companies are also turning to Defender Direct, as they were finding that items such as JCB's, or mini-diggers were taken off hire, and then used for potentially another day - until such time they could collect it. This meant that the plant was accruing additional hours of work-time, shortening its life. Defender Direct rectifies this, by fitting the Defender, allowing the Plant Hire Company to identify where their equipment is at any time, and to SAFESTOP it once taken off hire, until they can collect it, thus increasing the life of the product, and stopping hirers from receiving free hire periods. The Defender also protects the plant from being stolen. Heavy Goods Vehicles, Horseboxes, Lorries etc also benefit from the Defender Direct treatment, allowing owners to arm their vehicle, and should it be moved, then utilising our SAFESTOP feature to bring the vehicle to a controlled halt quickly. Marinecraft Defender Direct also protect marinecraft as well, allowing boats to be as secure as a car. Should the boat or jet-ski move, then our SAFESTOP feature can be used, cutting off the engine until such time the craft can be retrieved. Hopefully the above examples give some indication that anything that has an engine can be protected using our state of the art product.
